Medical Imaging Center

Samaritan Imaging Center, on the campus of Good Samaritan Hospital

Samaritan Imaging Center offers patients the most advanced imaging services available. Set in a comfortable office, the center is staffed by highly skilled nurses, technologists, and sub-specialty radiologists. All radiologists are fully licensed. The overall quality of our facilities has led to our selection as a Reference Site by the manufacturers of imaging equipment, one of just three sites selected in Southern California. In conjunction with Good Samaritan Hospital, the Samaritan Imaging Center has the ability to perform all types of invasive outpatient procedures, including CT and Ultrasound Guided Biopsy, Myelogram and Fluoroscopy.

BEFORE THE EXAM, BE PREPARED!

Preparation for CT Scan

Please wear loose, comfortable clothes avoiding ones with zippers. How to prepare for a CT scan can vary depending on which part of body is being scanned. Certain exams require you to drink a special dye called contrast 1 to 2 hours before the tests. Contrast may also be delivered through a vein (IV), or given through the rectum using an enema. Drinking contrast can make you nauseous and you may be asked to stop eating or drinking few hours before the test. You will need to remove jewelry and wear a hospital gown.

Be sure to tell your doctor and radiologist if you have…

  • Allergies to Lodine or Contrast Substances
  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetic and Currently on Medication
  • Kidney Disease
  • Claustrophobia
  • May be Pregnant
